GORHAM, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Gorham police arrest a man after, according to witnesses, his vehicle struck a motorcycle and immediately fled the scene.
Patrick Litchfield of Burlington, Massachusetts was arrested on several charges including criminal speeding, driving to endanger, leaving the scene of a personal injury crash and possession of heroin.
Litchfield had allegedly been clocked at driving 85 MPH in a 50 MPH zone shortly before the crash.
Witnesses told police a car matching the one Litchfield was driving struck a motorcyclist, sending Johnathan Lord to Maine Medical Center with head and neck injuries.
Officials say the investigation and crash reconstruction is on-going.
