To All Maine Guests On June 21

Who: All Maine Tim Hortons restaurant owners.

What: Summer has arrived and Tim Hortons is ready to beat the heat with some of its most popular cold beverages. In celebration of the first day of summer, Tim Hortons is offering all guests who visits a Maine-based restaurant on June 21 one FREE small ICED COFFEE or small Freshly Brewed ICED TEA.

When: All day on Tuesday, June 21.

Why: Maine Tim Hortons restaurant owners are treating their guests to a cool, refreshing beverage to celebrate the start of summer.  It’s their way of saying thank you for their guests’ continued support.

Sabbathday Lake Grange Craft Fair & Yard Sale

On Saturday May 21, from 8am to 1pm Sabbathday Lake Grange in New Gloucester will be holding an indoor yard sale & craft fair.  There will be a wide variety of crafts, cutlery, attic treasures, cooked foods & treats, plants, and more.  There will also be a light lunch available consisting of baked beans, hot dogs, chili and sandwiches.   Chicken pies will also be available for $8.00 or $7.50 for two or more. Yesterday my colleague Kim and I shot a Buddy to Buddy PSA at the Rumford Hospital.  Buddy to Buddy is our Breast Cancer Awareness program that encourages women to find a "Buddy" that can reminder her to do a breast self exam every month.  Check it out on our website here:

So we met a Mammographer named Karen Welch who is actually a breast cancer survivor.  She really loves her job and is able to share a special connection with her patients.  She likes to be able to calm their fears and tell them that there is hope especially if the cancer is caught early.  We had a lot of fun with her.  She roped a number of colleagues into the cover video shots.  If you see the spots Karen's sister is in the shot with the doctor looking at the X-rays and our own Amanda Hill's Aunt is the one walking down the hallway on Karen's right!  Turns out Amanda grew up in that area and lots of pe

Maine State Parks Begin to Open

Maine state parks and historic sites are starting to open up for the season. Officials with the Maine Bureau of Parks and Lands (BPL), under the Maine Department of Conservation, want to update visitors on several park situations around the state.

Sebago Lake State Park in Casco is opening Friday, April 29, according to Park Manager Andy Haskell. All the sites at Witch Cove will be open, which is about 125 sites, and the shower buildings also will be open, he said.

Campers will be able to choose a site and self register, Haskell said. Formal campground reservations for Sebago don’t start until Monday, May 23.

Haskell also said off-season rates will be in effect through May 22. They are:

Maine residents, $10 a night with no hook-ups; $15 a night with water and electricity;
Nonresidents, $18 a night with no hook-ups; $25 a night with water and electricity.
