PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - The Cumberland County Sheriff's Department says the driver in the crash that killed a 4-year-old boy has been found.

The driver, Michael Minson of Gray, had been reported missing by his mother on September 17.

Officials were notified of Minson's whereabouts, and investigators were able to speak to Minson Friday morning, said Lt. Donald Foss of the Cumberland County Sheriff's Department.

Minson told officials he was spending time with friends in York County.

Minson was the driver in the August 11th Casco crash that killed 4-year-old Cameron Petersen. Officials believe Minson was running late for work, allegedly driving too fast and hit a telephone pole, killing Petersen.

Foss said the investigation into the crash is ongoing and when completed, will be forwarded to the Cumberland County District Attorney's Office for prosecutorial review.
