BROWNFILED, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Just after noon, fire fighters were called to 138 Moore Road when a neighbor noticed smoke pouring from the house. By the time crews arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames.

Fire crews from five towns were called in to help put the fire out, but the home was completely destroyed. No one was home at the time, but several cats are feared to have perished in the fire.
One fire fighter was taken by ambulance to the hospital after showing signs of exhaution, and is expected to recover after being treated.
An investigator from the State Fire Marshal's office was called in to help determine what sparked the blaze.
