Maine State Society for the Protection of Animals Adds Saint Joseph’s College of Maine Intern to Volunteer Team

The Maine State Society for the Protection of Animals has recently added a new addition to its volunteer program.  Tasha Sanders, a senior at Saint Joseph’s College of Maine has joined the team as an intern for the spring of 2012.  Sanders will be graduating this May with a degree in Communications.  She is extremely excited to be a part of the developing MSSPA volunteer program.  “We are so pleased to be community partners with the Service Learning Program at Saint Joseph’s College,” said the Society’s Volunteer Coordinator Michelle Melaragno.  Updating the adoption page on the Society’s website, developing adoption and volunteer brochures, as well as event planning for community fundraisers are some of the goals for Ms. Sanders.  She said, “I believe whole-heartedly in what the MSSPA does.  My ultimate mission is to help generate awareness of the organization and the amazing impact community volunteers have.  The Society is the perfect organization for me to apply the skills that I have learned during my studies.  As a volunteer, I want to make a positive difference and help show the way for others.”

Anyone with an interest in volunteering for the Maine State Society for the Protection of Animals can contact Michelle Melaragno at 207-892-3040 or michelle@msspa.org.  The Maine State Society for the Protection of Animals is a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) public charity and receives no federal, state or local government funding.  The Society is entirely funded by membership dues, donations, bequests, grants, and fund-raising activities.  The Society does not charge for its services.  It provides more than one million dollars in services annually to Maine taxpayers and salvation to abused animals.  FMI, visit www.msspa.org
