Reggae Fest on Peaks Island Returns This Sunday
Reggae Fest on Peaks Island Returns This Sunday

This Sunday, May 29, 2011 reggae fest will return to Jones Landing on Peaks Island. Every Sunday from now until the end of August, ferry & water taxi loads of locals will all pile onto Peaks Island for an afternoon of beer buckets, reggae music & sunshine! The doors open at 10AM, which may sound waaaaaay too early for some of you on a Sunday, & the music begins at 1PM! The seating is limited and fills up extremely fast [especially the spots in the sun]!  The breakfast pizza & beer bucket specials are always very popular & the drink specials rotate weekly.

Local reggae bands alternate weekly; this Sunday, Stream Reggae & Royal Hammer will be there to kick off the season!

The key to enjoying reggae fest is to time your arrival & departure just right. If you don't have a boat, or a friend with a boat, make sure you give yourself enough time to catch the ferry out to the island. [Keep in mind that the party is over at 6PM]! The full Casco Bay Lines ferry schedule can be found here. Also, you only need a ticket to get out there. Once you are on the island [& drunk], don't freak out thinking you lost your ticket back. You don't need one to get back. And they probably don't really want to keep you out there anyway ;)

You can RSVP to the Facebook event here! Remember to drink responsibly, bring sunscreen & try to behave so that we can all keep enjoying this Sunday Reggae Funday tradition!
