Spotlight on Ecoscience – Free, public event highlighting scientific research of emerging threats to wildlife and ecosystems

BioDiversity Research Institute (BRI), a Maine nonprofit, announces a free, public event to highlight scientific research of emerging threats to wildlife and ecosystems.  The event features two powerful presentations underscoring the importance of ecoscience in today’s world.

Dr. Thomas Kunz, a world-renowned bat expert and Professor of Biology at Boston University, will discuss bat ecology and challenges to their life on the wing.  His presentation is titled, Aeroecology: An Emerging Frontier.

Dr. David Evers, BRI Executive Director, will be giving an update on BRI’s cutting edge work in Maine and around the world.  Dr. Evers will discuss BRI’s new role with the United Nations Environment Programme, research about the impact of Hungary’s toxic sludge disaster on wildlife, and the organization’s position as a world leader in contaminants research.
