Indigo Girls Next in the Benefit Concert Series

SATURDAY OCTOBER 30th 2010: Presenting the fourth in the Return to Life Concert Series, Indigo Girls, at Merrill Auditorium, Portland ME.

With three successful concerts behind us, featuring Rufus Wainwright, Brandi Carlile, & David Bromberg, we are excited to welcome these Grammy-winning singer-songwriters to the Return to Life stage.

In the beginning of 1989, with the release of what has proven to be their most timeless classic "Closer to Fine," the Indigo Girls suddenly had everyone's attention. Their first major label release snagged them a Grammy award for Best Contemporary Folk Recording, as well as a nomination for Best New Artist. Since then, the duo has released a dozen records, begun an independent not-for-profit record company (Daemon Records), and leant their names to various charity events.

The Indigo Girls, for more than two decades, have presented some of the best music in front of cheering crowds – sometimes in the cramped confines of a small club, sometimes in a vast arena packed with thousands. They are celebrating their years of performing with their new release “Staring Down the Brilliant Dream”, a hand-selected compilation of their most memorable moments from their 2006-2009 shows.

Tickets are available online at or at the Merrill Auditorium Box Office from Thursday 8/5/10 at noon. Doors open at 7 p.m., concert starts at 8 p.m. All profits from the concert will go to benefit Alpha One, Center for Independent Living. For information about accessible tickets click here.
