Bridgton police look for kidnapping suspect

BRIDGTON, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - The Bridgton Police Department is looking for the man who kidnapped a woman at gunpoint and forced her to drive him to Bethel on Wednesday.

Police say he also hit her with his gun.

A woman who police are not identifying had pulled over on Route 107 near Bear Trap Road on Wednesday evening.

The man approached the woman and pulled a gun, demanding that she drive him to Bethel.  In Bethel he let her go.

Police say at some point he assaulted her with the gun.

The woman describes the man as white, about 5'9", 160 pounds with dirty blond hair and a thin build.  She says he's in his early 30s.

The night of the attack was wearing brown boots, dark washed jeans, a red hoodie, tan wool gloves, a black knitted cap and a Carhartt jacket.
