State Fire Marshal issues urgent warning about contaminated kerosene

GORHAM, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The State fire Marshal's office is warning customers of the Lampron Energy Little Mart in Gorham about using kerosene mistakenly contaminated with gasoline.

About 300 gallons of contaminated kerosene was sold between Tuesday afternoon and Thursday afternoon this week at the store near the intersection of Routes 237 and 202. Lampron Energy Little Mart says fewer than 50 people bought the contaminated kerosene

Using the fuel could have disastrous results according to John Dean, the State Fire Marshal.  Customers who purchased kerosene from the store on those dates are urged to not use it and contact the store or the Gorham Fire Department.

"We have had fatalities where the wrong product, gasoline, was put into a kerosene heater and people have died,' said Dean.  "It's very, very serious."

The Ice Cream Cone is back up at RED’S!

The Ice Cream Cone is back up at RED’S!

It was a long summer for all those Red’s fans out there, making for an extra long winter. After a devastating fire back in May 2010, Red’s Dairy Freeze has since been working hard to re-build. Well, good news! The ice cream cone is back up on the newly finished red roof! If that isn’t a true sign of things to come, I don’t know what is. In a couple of short months everyone will be lining up outside of Red’s again…“Can I get a Chocolate Boston, Peanut Butter Cup Nor’easter, and a small ½ and ½ with crunch cote and eyes!” Yum

Warmer days ahead!

Adventures in coupon clipping services.

Last week when I was writing about coupon contingency plans, I mentioned the possibility of buying coupons from an online clipping service. I’d considered it before, but always got big case of the lazy (with a side of cheap), and decided that it wasn’t worth the risk of buying a bunch of coupons that I might not ever have the occasion to use.
